Community Guidelines

Last updated: October 7, 2026 · Applies to all Linkup users

1. Why these guidelines exist

Linkup only works if people feel safe enough to show up as themselves. These guidelines are the specific rules behind the promise in our Terms of Service, what's allowed, what isn't, and what may happen if you break them. We review new profiles before they go live and assess reports using the information available to our safety team.

2. Be a real person

  • Use your own name, your own age, and recent photos of yourself, no exceptions.
  • One account per person. Don't create an account for someone else, or run multiple accounts of your own.
  • No catfishing: don't use another person's photos, a celebrity's photos, or AI-generated images to misrepresent who you are.
  • You must be 18 or older. We remove underage accounts as soon as we find them.

3. Respect and consent

  • No harassment, threats, or repeatedly contacting someone after they've asked you to stop.
  • Unwanted sexual messages or images aren't welcome here. If someone hasn't invited it, don't send it.
  • No pressuring, guilt-tripping, or coercing anyone, on the app or after you've moved a conversation elsewhere.
  • Disagreements happen. Contempt, slurs, and personal attacks aren't how we expect you to handle them.

4. No hate, no discrimination

Attacking or degrading someone over their tribe, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, or any other protected characteristic isn't allowed, in a bio, a message, or anywhere else on Linkup.

5. No scams or solicitation

Linkup is for meeting people, not for solicitation. The following are prohibited and may lead to immediate removal:

  • Asking another user for money, gift cards, crypto, banking credentials, or “help” with an emergency, a classic romance-scam pattern we take seriously.
  • Promoting a business, service, OnlyFans-style content, or investment scheme.
  • Impersonating Linkup staff, or claiming to represent Linkup to ask for money or personal information.

Linkup itself will never ask you to pay outside the app, or to send money to another user. If someone asks you for money, report them right away.

7. What happens if you break these rules

Depending on severity, available evidence, risk, and account history, we may remove content, limit features, warn you, suspend your account, or remove it permanently. Severe or credible safety violations, including underage use, scams, sexual exploitation, or threats, may result in immediate removal and referral to appropriate authorities.

Removed for something that wasn't your fault, or think we got it wrong? Email support@linkupmatch.com and we'll take a second look.

8. Reporting someone

Profiles and conversations include block and report controls. Give as much accurate context as you safely can; our team reviews available information and takes action under these rules. We may not be able to disclose the outcome because another user's privacy and safety also matter. If you're uncomfortable, stop engaging, block the account, and report it. If anyone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

9. Meet safely

  • Take time to get to know someone and consider a voice or video call before meeting.
  • Meet in a populated public place and arrange your own transport.
  • Tell someone you trust where you are going and when you expect to return.
  • Keep financial information, passwords, verification codes, and identity documents private.
  • Never send money to a person you met through Linkup, even if the story feels urgent.
  • Trust your judgment. Leave, block, or report whenever something feels unsafe.
